Mac Cummings is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Terakeet. Born and raised in Central New York, Cummings attended Manlius Pebble Hill School (MPH). As a young adult, he enrolled at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, and graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial & Labor Relations. That same year, Cummings returned to downtown Syracuse and founded Terakeet with his longtime friend and MPH classmate, Pat Danial, who later served as the company’s Chief Technology Officer.
As natives of Upstate New York, Cummings and Danial were acutely aware of the critical need for support across Syracuse’s underserved communities, especially for students in the Syracuse City School District and their families. Recognizing that their growing business was a platform for creating meaningful change, in 2013, a group of Terakeet employees launched Cause For The Cuse (CFTC) — centering the company’s philanthropic efforts on the local community.
Under Cummings’ stewardship, employee-led efforts like Cause For The Cuse have increased Terakeet’s positive impact on the region. To date, the non-profit has raised more than $100,000, every dollar of which has gone towards the educational resources and supplies necessary for over 20,000 students to achieve academic success. For Cummings, that impact — and the ambition, perseverance, and collaboration of the employees who brought it to life — is what makes CFTC one of his most gratifying Terakeet legacies.
Cummings’ altruism extends to his executive leadership, as evidenced by his commitment to employee empowerment and his unwavering dedication to Terakeet’s clients. Driven by his industry acumen and vision for what the company could become, Cummings strategically scaled Terakeet into the trusted reputational partner for global brands and individuals it is today.
As Terakeet’s CEO, Cummings has fostered a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, creating a dynamic, award-winning organization. Throughout his professional career, Cummings has been recognized as one of Glassdoor’s Top CEOs and was honored with Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2022 New York Award.
Alongside his role at Terakeet and involvement with Cause For The Cuse, Cummings is an avid supporter of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Syracuse. He previously served on the Manlius Pebble Hill School Alumni Board and the CenterState CEO Board.
Mac Cummings resides in Central New York and Palm Beach, Florida, with his wife and their three children.
